Butterfly valves

Butterfly valves

Butterfly valves are the most commonly used valve type due to their economic, compact and lightweight design. Butterfly valves are available in multiple designs (eccentric, double eccentric, triple eccentric and quadruple eccentric) and with multiple sealing systems.

Hanwel supplies a wide range of centric and eccentric butterfly valves. We are therefore always able to offer the right solution to specific challenges. Our specialists will be happy to visit you to select a suitable model with you.

Regarding connections, butterfly valves are generally available in three versions: wafer type, lug type and double flanged.

Connections for butterfly valves

Wafer-type

A wafer type, or clampable butterfly valve is mounted between two flanges and is fitted with four eyes to centre the valve. This version can not be used as an end-of-line valve.

Lug-type

A lug-type butterfly valve is equipped with threaded holes according to the desired pitch circle (DIN/ANSI). This valve can be connected directly to a flange and can therefore be used as an end-of-line valve.

Double flanged type

The flanged version is fitted with two flanges according to the desired pitch circle (DIN or ANSI). This version can therefore be used as an end-of-line valve.
