Accessories for Lohse gate valves
All Lohse (knife) gate valves can be individually customized to make them more suitable for specific circumstances. This allows the valves to be used in the most demanding applications and processes.
A standard Lohse valve can be adapted to your specific wishes and circumstances by means of an (often simple) modification or addition.
The following modifications are available as a standard:
The conical insert ring
The conical ring is placed on top of the inlet of the gate valve and reduces the inlet of the valve in relation to the outlet. This directs the medium towards the centre of the bore and prevents solid particles from remaining in the dead spaces of the valve.
The ring also protects the flanging rings of the valve which, as long as the ring is mounted, are completely free of wear. The conical ring can easily be clamped between the flange and the valve. No modification of the valve is required.
A spring-loaded conical insert ring with integrated scraper ring
The spring-loaded conical insert with scraper ring is placed on top of the inlet of the gate valve and reduces the inlet of the valve relative to the outlet. This directs the medium to the centre of the bore and prevents solid particles from remaining in the dead spaces of the valve.
In addition, an integrated scraper ring scrapes medium from the plate before the plate enters the internals of the valve during operation. This prevents the medium from sticking to the valve plate and being pressed into the slide cups, thus preventing wear of the seals.
The conical ring can easily be clamped between the flange and the valve. No modification of the valve is required.
A conical insert ring with storm ribs
The conical ring with storm ribs is placed on top of the inlet of the gate valve and reduces the inlet of the valve in relation to the outlet. This directs the medium to the centre of the bore and prevents solid particles from remaining in the dead spaces of the valve.
In addition, the ring is fitted with ribs that break up any turbulences in the medium. This solution is mainly used for valves which are applied directly below hydrocyclones or valves that have to deal with heavy turbulences in the medium. Since the turbulences are partially broken down, it significantly reduces wear on the plate, the flanging rings and the internal parts.
The conical ring can easily be clamped between the flange and the valve. No modification of the valve is required.
Special materials
The material of practically all parts can be reinforced to make them stronger and less subject to wearing. The valve plate and the flanging rings can be fabricated out of hardened material (type -V), ceramic or special alloys. We can also apply coatings to materials to increase their hardness.
This will delay or even prevent wear. Ask our specialists for advice tailored to your needs.
Flushing connections
All Lohse knife gate valves can be equipped with single or multiple flushing connections. Using these connections, air or water can be used to flush the dead spaces between the slide cups and the packing before and after the valve opens and/or closes. This prevents abrasive media such as salt, lime and sugar from solidifying, thus preventing the valve from jamming.
